At Select Norwich we are currently recruiting for a creative and dedicated Sous Chef on behalf of our client, a Michelin listed Boutique hotel with 2 AA Rosette awarded restaurant. With three establishments, each having established themselves as destination restaurants, there is plenty of scope for progression within the group.

The Role

* Work efficiently and effectively within the brigade, producing rosette standard dishes using fresh, local and seasonal produce
* Confidently taking on Head Chef responsibilities when needed, ensuring service always runs smoothly
* Sous chef must be assertive; they must delegate, instruct and motivate more junior members
* Be comfortable and skilled in all aspects of the kitchen, from plating dishes to dealing with suppliers and constructing creative and innovative menus
* Being directly responsible for the quality of food, the Sous chef will strive for perfection and always endeavour to exceed expectations
* Constantly assess the performance of the kitchen team and provide effective training when necessary
* The successful Sous Chef must always be at the top of their game, be committed to their role within the kitchen and work as a reliable member of the team
* Together with the Head Chef create innovative, imaginative dishes to feature on the menu, with a focus on seasonality and showcasing the best quality ingredients

Experience and Skills required

* Previous Sous Chef experience is essential
* Skilfully work with fresh ingredients
* Knowledge of seasonality and food trends
* Experience working in a rosette awarded restaurant is desired, preferably at a Senior level
* Comfortable working under pressure and with high volume
* A genuine passion for the industry, and highly driven to succeed

Salary and Benefits

* Salary of GBP22,000-27,000 depending on experience
