This progressive family owned consultancy are looking for a Structural Engineer (Building Structures) to join their team. They are a well-established multi-disciplinary Building Surveying, Structural Engineering and Architecture Practice in Potters Bar Hertfordshire. Their successful company has seen continued growth in business over recent years and are continuing to expand and diversify. In addition, you will have regular direct contact with the company Directors and will work on a variety of projects rather than being pigeon holed into working on one element. They will also consider creating a senior position with salary based on experience. Salary GBP25,000.00 - GBP35,000.00 pa, Plus Benefits. Training provided to progress to professional chartered status. Duties - Prepare structural calculations, specifications, reports and general correspondence to up-to-date British Standards, Euro codes and relevant design guidance notes - Using associated software for analysis and design purposes - Carry out general structural advice and analysis supporting the multidisciplinary business on diverse buildings and advise on any issues that may arise - Interpret geotechnical data from soil investigating reports for foundation design - Liaise & communicate with external professionals, clients and management. - Site inspections Academic & Professional Qualifications - Masters In Structural Engineering - MICE, MIStructE or similar - Chartered Member desirable but not essential. Experience & Technical Skills - Sound experience in the design of building structures - Design in structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber. - Prepare reports to Management and fellow professionals - Sound knowledge of relevant software programmes, Revit, SAP200 and AUTOCAD General Requirements - The ability to analyse complex problems and assess solutions - Good written and verbal communication skills - Excellent team working and people skills - Ability to manage own workload within agreed time scales - A sound knowledge of construction methods, health and safety, and legal regulations IMPORTANT NOTE; Please only apply for this position if you currently reside within a maximum of a 1 hour commute to Potters Bar.
