Our clients based in Chelmsford, Essex are a cutting-edge growing publishing and events company that showcase the vert best of entrepreneurial Britain. They are currently seeking an energetic, passionate media sales executive to work as an Account Manager for the UK's fastest growing start-up and SME magazine in the UK. The publication showcases celebrity entrepreneurs featured on such programmes as Dragon's Den and the Secret Millionaire. Managing accounts through both print and digital opportunities, you will be given ongoing training to equip you with exceptional media sales skills. The role will include opportunities to attend events as well as meet with clients and media agencies to develop and build relationships with some of the most respected brands in the UK

It's important that you're driven and entrepreneurial. Given the nature of the role you must have an excellent telephone manner. A great fit if you're energetic and ambitious, enjoying working towards and achieving targets. You'll need to absorb new ideas and deal with challenges in your day-to-day role with enthusiasm. It will be essential that you are presentable as well as comfortable dealing with clients at board level. You should also demonstrate a genuine desire to pursue a career in media sales. You will need at least 2 years media/telesales experience.

Some of the duties included but not limited to:

  • To sell advertising on both digital and press platforms, as well as cross-selling exhibition stand space for their Annual conference & exhibition.Target B2B companies, from SME C-suite decision makers and marketing managers of national companies
  • Source leads via various methods and contact them either via the telephone with the occasionally F2F meetings being required at industry or competitor events.
  • Research, develop, plan and manage a personal sales pipeline
  • Plan and manage your daily activities
  • Manage the Sales Processes from start to finish
  • Manage clients accounts after sales for future bookings
  • Produce daily figures
  • Take part in daily, Weekly and month sales team meetings

The key traits we look for in the right candidate:


  • At last 2 years of knowledge of professional B2B sales in Publishing, digital or events
  • Previous sales experience is essential, preferably in an exhibition sales environment
  • Proven track record in achieving commercial targets and goals
  • Experience of working as part of a sales team
  • Experience selling media advertising, preferred but not essential


  • Excellent telesales skills particularly
  • Cold Calling experience is required
  • Able to source own leads
  • Proven end to end sales skills - prospecting, pipeline management, negotiation and closing
  • A knowledge of, or interest in general business issues
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Very organised with attention to detail and good time keeping
  • Experience of giving good customer service
  • Ability to cope with the pressure deadlines
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take direction
  • Ability to be flexible with working hours when required
  • An all-around team player
