About FareShare

FareShare is a national charity fighting food poverty by tackling food waste. We source food that is surplus to requirements – from food retailers and manufacturers – and engage many volunteers to help redistribute this to local charities and community groups that provide meals to vulnerable people (individuals who are homeless, unemployed, socially isolated)

FareShare operates in 20 regions in the UK, providing food to over 4500charities. We provide food for 21 million meals, helping to reach over 499,000 people every week.

East Anglia Regional Centre

The East Anglia Regional Centre based in Ipswich is a new FareShare Regional Centre that has been developed to work with community groups and charities in the counties in the East Anglia.

The East Anglia Regional Centre will receive daily deliveries from various food companies and with the help of volunteers will redistribute food to organisations serving vulnerable and disadvantaged people.

Main purpose of this role

This is a new role with an exciting opportunity to provide leadership and direction to meet ambitious strategic and operational performance targets in the East Anglia by creating partnerships and raising awareness of FareShare with local government across the East Anglia, local and national food suppliers and community volunteering organisations.

Initially you will work with the FareShare UK Teams to develop the regional centre, recruit warehouse staff and volunteers and engage with potential Community Food Members.

There will be some travel involved during the training period to other FareShare Regional Centres.

You will manage and co-ordinate the day to day operations of our East Anglia Regional Centre. You will also manage and support the East Anglia Regional Centre staff and volunteers, leading by example to ensure that our ambitious targets are met and ensure continuity of delivery standards within the guidelines of FareShare national policies and procedures and the needs of the local community.
