Alsager Golf & Country Club, on the border of South Cheshire/North Staffordshire, is recruiting an Events Manager to take overall responsibility for a busy annual calendar of events and to grow this key part of the business in line with the strategy of the club across a number of different revenue streams.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Events Manager, looking to take on more responsibility, in particular, taking on management responsibilities and growing the business from a significant established base. Training will be provided where required

Key responsibilities will include:

  • First point of contact for all events from enquiry through delivery and post event review
  • Grow revenue from events and functions to agreed targets set by the management team
  • Bring forward innovative ideas to attract new customers and proactively implement and drive appropriate marketing and sales activities to support business growth
  • Ensure all event bookings are handled seamlessly with appropriate follow up to all enquiries, and reporting on conversion
  • Line management for senior staff in bar and catering departments and all events staff
  • Ensure appropriate front of house service for all events and be personally present for all major events
  • Price setting for all aspects of events and functions to meet revenue targets and business growth expectations
  • Approval of menus proposed by the catering manager for all events in line with customer quality and margin targets
  • Provision of relevant training for event and catering staff to ensure quality of service to customers
  • Recommend investments to improve facilities to drive increase in revenue and increase conversion of enquiries to firm bookings
  • Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety regulations
  • Key contributor to the clubs hospitality and events development strategy
  • Set and manage budgets to target
  • Ensure best value procurement is in operation across all departments

Key skills and experience:

Essential

  • Experience within events management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Customer and quality focus
  • Ability to balance workload
  • IT literacy
  • Marketing and sales experience in hospitality industry

Preferred

  • Line management experience
  • Experience specifically in Wedding events would be an advantage
  • Budget management

This is a full time role and flexible working including weekends is a pre-requisite requirement.

Standard 38 hours per week with 4 weeks holiday + bank holidays.
